randoms.

•So, my tv watching usually takes a definite hit during the summer. But, the one show that I can count on is Big Brother. Not only is it immensely entertaining, but it also comes on three nights a week!

The new season just started about 2 weeks ago, and I'm already hooked. Each season there are twists and the main one for this summer is that 3 "couples" from previous seasons came back on the show to try to win the $500,000 prize. Evel Dick and Daniele, Jeff and Jordan and, the worst of all of them, Brendon and Rachel.

If you like to watch a bunch of Crazies duking it out three nights a week, this is the show for you. The psychological warfare is the best.

Do you watch Big Brother?

•About a month ago we got some geraniums to fill two of the pots on our front porch. I don't have the greenest of thumbs, but I've been able to keep geraniums alive before. This year is apparently the exception. I've tried keeping them more shaded, less shaded, watered more often, watered less often and nothing seems to help. They're dying a slow death.

I've admitted I'm not a skilled gardener, but who can keep anything alive in these temps? And, there's no end in sight.

•The other night, just before I put Jack to bed, we did a little photoshoot. I got the cutest smiling pic of The Bubbs.

I was never a lover of the gummy, toothless smile, but this one just melts my heart. And those dimples!

•Friday was John's 29th birthday. We had a little QT for ourselves and went out to dinner with family. I think he enjoyed the first day of the his last year in his 20s.

Let me tell you the highlight of dinner, though: John, me, his aunt Missy and brother Matt all got puked on. Yep. Happy birthday to you, huh?

We went to the Mont, John's favorite, and were sitting inside instead of melting on the patio. We were all sitting, eating and drinking, minding our own business when some guy couldn't make it to the bathroom in time. I thought he'd spilled a drink, but No. He had had one too many and lost it all right behind me. I was wearing a romper, so I couldn't just change my shirt. John and his brother both got it all on their legs.

It was disgusting, but at least it happened to us. I'm not sure just anyone would be ok with it. The worst part is that the guy puked all over the floor and the entire party (except one) just peaced out. One really nice guy hung back and helped clean up and apologized. But, geez...everyone scurries away without saying a word? Nice.

That's all on the randoms.

I have a baby shower for Jack's future best friend this afternoon and I'm finally going to see Harry Potter part 2 tomorrow afternoon! Should be a nice little weekend.

thursday randoms.

This week has been nice and low key. For once I didn't have a single meeting or extracurricular activity to take up my time in the evenings, and it's been really relaxing! Now ... on to a few things I've had on my mind:

• It's no secret that I love Bravo reality tv. Tonight is the premier of the fourth season of Real Housewives of New York City. I have to say that this and the OC have always been my favorite. Even last season when the mean girls (Jill, LuAnn and Kelly) finally showed their true colors, I was hooked. I'm sad that Bethenny won't be on there, but she has her own show for me to get my fix.

Anyway, tonight I plan on getting Ramotional, having a little Turtle Time and will probably end up making faces and comments to the tv because of some ridiculously stupid thing Kelly says. Bring on NYC!!

Watch a preview here.

• A couple summers ago I was all about drinking margaritas. If I was out by the pool or in need of a refreshing adult beverage, a margarita on the rocks with salt was my choice. Unfortunately, I really overdid it on the margaritas and for the last 2 summers I haven't really been able to drink them.

Cue the nice weather we're having and my not being able to drink, due to this whole growing-a-baby situation ... and all I can think of is a margarita! I posted something about margaritas being a pregnancy craving and it was pretty funny to see how many people agree! One girl I knew in high school said when she was pregnant with her first little girl she bought the bucket of margarita mix and mixed it with Sprite. Then she froze it and would scoop some out when she needed a fix! I love it!

I'm really looking forward to being able to have an adult beverage (preferably a margarita) very soon! Just a little over 4 weeks to go!

• I finally decided on some curtains for the baby's room! I am probably the.most indecisive person, especially when it comes to window coverings, and having just decided on something makes me feel really great!

I found these bright window panels on the Z Gallerie website and I thought they would be perfect! The bedding is yellow, white and gray and I thought blue accents would be perfect! I love the bright color and the pattern.

Since I don't have a Z Gallerie close, I got my mom on the case. She picked up one and we have a second panel on order. I can't wait to get them in and hang them!!

My plan is to show you guys the nursery when I'm closer to having everything and it's a little more put together. Until then...enjoy!

Have a fabulous Thursday!

bad idea.

Last night was the Real Housewives of Miami "reunion". For some reason, Bravo thought it would be a great idea to do the reunion live on Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen.

Unfortunately, it didn't turn out that great. Instead of talking about things and hitting on the more controversial parts of their very short season, the "reunion" was just a scream-fest!

Here's a link to a small snippet of the screaming. Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

And, here's a video of the reunion on YouTube.

If anything, Adriana showed her true colors (lady's crazy!!). Everytime the show came back from commercial, she was shouting at someone and the editors were having to bleep out whatever she said.

I didn't watch the whole season, and if it comes back on, I don't think I'd be a loyal watcher. These ladies are sorta terrible.

tonight.

Tonight is part 2 of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion. I've watched the whole season (with lots of opinions) and I'm kind of anxious to see the rest of the drama unfold. And, see more about this Kim being an alcoholic thing. That piece of info was kinda thrown in our face in the last episode with no lead up or explanation.

Find a sneak peak video here. I can never seem to get the html on Bravo videos to embed for me.

Enjoy!

the end.

The Hills aired its final episode on Tuesday, and I think it was a little stupid. Like I said before, I've watched the show from the beginning but I'm not really sad to see it go. Sorry.

Anyway, I saw this on someone else's blog, and had to share it with you guys.

Joel McHale at his best:

my thoughts on ...

This season of The Bachelorette.

I haven't been diligently watching each episode, but I've seen enough to have many opinions about Ali as the current Bachelorette.

First of all, I remember Ali on Jake's season and she definitely didn't have that nasty hair. What does this mean? She has nasty extensions. And those nasty extensions look neither real nor good. They're usually pretty stringy. Good work hair people, good work.

The girl's got some nice abs, though.

Also, Ali used to be such a cute all-American type of girl. Now, she's caked with make up. And, a big kudos go out to the make up people as well.

Ali seems to be a pretty smart woman, with a good head on her shoulders {save for that time that she chose her job over Jake, but really that probably wouldn't have worked out anyway, seeing as how he's a total famewhore}, but she has got to stop giggling. And hugging.

Everytime someone opens their mouth, Ali is already giggling in anticipation of what they're going to say. And, anytime someone shows her something or she and her date{s} arrive at a new location, she's all giggles and hugs. I like to laugh and hug as much as the next person, but Ali is on a whole other level. Someone {namely whoever scripts this stuff}, please tell her to cut it out.

But, all in all, I feel sorry for Ali. Here she is looking for love and she doesn't have squat to choose from. Most of the guys are pretty terrible, and even though I don't know their names, I have a good idea about the potential suitors. There was the goofy "Weatherman" and the most-hated-man-in-Bachelorette-history, Justin "Rated R" Rego. And, there was that guy that sounded like he had a constant bubble in his throat {so annoying! clear your throat, already!}. And the guy that supposedly quit the show because he was still in love with his girlfriend.

Anyway, I hear that Ali doesn't choose anyone {thanks RealitySteve} but does get a fabulous vacation in Bora Bora. Pretty nice consolation prize, huh?

But, really, who's surprised? Like I said, the guys were nothing to write home about.

my thoughts on ...

The last season of The Hills.

I've watched LC, Whitney, Brody, Audrina, Heidi, Spencer and Frankie since day one. And, I'll admit, I was an avid Laguna Beach watcher during my senior year of college. {My first encounter with LB, I was really unsure if these were just really terrible actors or if it was a reality show. Good work MTV. }

Although I've been highly skeptical of the show since LC moved on, I still tuned in. I mean Speidi is a total train wreck and I cannot take my eyes off of them.

But now, with Speidi all but ousted from The Hills and Kristin manufacturing drama, I'm only watching because I've watched from day one.

I don't think I've watched a single episode from this, the last season, live, or even remotely near the date of its original airing. I don't really care about Audrina and Ryan {are they still together? Who cares!} or her weird obsession with Justin Bobby. I don't really care about Kristin and McKaela and Brody and that other girl that some people think looks like LC but really she doesn't at all. I don't really care about Stephanie and trying to find a guy. And I definitely don't care about Stacey.

The only normal-seeming one in the group is Lo because she's never in on the drama and she seems to just go about her life, with a real job and a real boyfriend and other real friends.

they're friends in real life. enough said.

If anything, this show should have ended with Lauren, but no, MTV had to milk it for all it wasn't worth. I'm not sad to see any of these people go or my feeling of having to DVR this show.

Here's hoping some of those people go out and get real jobs, or at least figure out a new and more interesting way to stir up press about themselves.

watch what happens.

Tonight is the finale of what was probably the most tumultuous season of Real Housewives of NYC. Many questions are left to answer:

What happened to Kelly and did she get a grip on reality the help she needed?

Will Jill convince Bethenny to be her friend again? {My answer: no. Jill pushed her away too many times. And, Alex already told her that she and B are ovah!}

http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city/videos/next-on-episode-14-on-the-mend

(I cannot, for the life of me, get this video to embed. So, if you're curious about tonight's episode, click on the link. Ugh!)

Can Countlessess LuAnn sing? {again, my answer: no}

What is new girl, Jennifer, going to bring to the table? {she seems a little more normal than the others and definitely above all the bickering and drama, but we'll just have to watch what happens...ha!}

Even though most episodes were really hard to watch {hello, mean girls!}, I'm sad to see this season end. I'm happy for Ramona -- renewing your vows with the man you love is really sweet. And I'm really happy for Bethenny -- she's married, has an adorable new baby and a thriving career.

Are you tuning in tonight?

Oh, and if you love a hilarious recap, check out Scented Glossy Magazines. She's hilarious!

cannibalism.

The newest installment of the Bachelorette started last night. And, have you noticed {of course you have} that for the past 6 or 7 seven season, the "creators" of the show have just cannibalized a contestant from a previous season {they're not really eating each other, c'mon ... } as the newest Bachelor or Bachelorette? I have too.

It all started with Brad {I think -- I didn't watch this season}, who didn't choose DeAnna. Then she was the Bachelorette. She didn't choose Jason, so he was the newest Bachelor. Then, he gave Jillian the heave-ho and she was the new Bachelorette. She thought Jake was a little too squeaky clean, and he was the Bachelor. Then Ali had to quit for work and now, she's given up her life and is the newest Bachelorette.

Ugh, we need some new faces!

But, I guess that'll have to wait for another season cause we know this is nowhere near the end of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise.

Anyway, I tuned in to Ali's season last night. The first thing I noticed? Her awful hair and make up. When she was on Jake's season, she was so fresh-faced and fun, and now? Ugh, she's trying too hard to be glam. Take a page from Jillian's book and be yourself! {I would put some pictures in this post, but the ones I found on abc.com made her look way better than she did on tv last night, therefor, I can't use them to prove my point. Duh.}

I didn't really pay much attention to the guys -- all of their entrances were too cheesy and terrible. And, I didn't even watch the cocktail party.

At this point, I'm not so sure how much I'll tune in, but I definitely want to see the episodes when they're in Iceland on the active volcano!

Anyway, I've read some of realitysteve.com {he's the one that, somehow, always has the dirt on these shows}, and it seems that quite a bit of drama happens.

So, who's watching Ali on the Bachelorette?

The state of my tv watching.

You'd think that since it's May and tv shows should be winding down for season finales, that my tv watching would be slowing down too. Well, that's not exactly the case, and really, I'm exhausted from trying to catch it all. {Sorry this post is sans-pictures. I'm too lazy to pull pictures for every show I watch.}

**Mondays**

J and I really love How I Met Your Mother, and were super sad when the episodes we'd dvr'd earlier in the season were lost when we had to get a new Dish receiver. Have no fear, we're back to watching religiously.

I'm still a Gossip Girl watcher. Although this season has been a little lackluster, I'm still with them. I did miss a few episodes when {yep, you guessed it} we had to get a new Dish receiver, but I didn't watch them and I don't feel like I missed much.

Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood just started again about a month ago, and that one is definitely a guilty pleasure. I love Tori {I kind of never thought I'd say that after her 90210 days} and I think she and Dean are really great together.

And, last night Real Housewives of New Jersey started again. I haven't watched the premier, but I can only imagine it's full of b*tchfests, drama and over-the-top indulgences for all involved {I'm lookin' at you Theresa Guidice, and your three adorable daughters}.

**Tuesdays**

J has loved Deadliest Catch since it started. And, really, I love it too. You can't beat a bunch of grown men being thrown around a boat, cussing up a storm and trying to catch crab worth, like, $55/lb. {that's just a guestimate, people, I don't really know how much it costs}

Glee. Not much else has to be said, except, I'm a little miffed that they moved it from Wednesday to Tuesday and that {sucky} American Idol has been running long, meaning my recording of Glee is cut off! Ugh! But, I'm so glad it's back. And, how awesome was that Madonna episode? I've watched it twice!

I've been with The Hills since it started. In fact, I was with LC in her Laguna Beach days. I miss LC, but I really think she made the right decision to get out of The Hills when she did. That show is so awful now, but, yep, I still watch it. And, it's no secret, I'm glad this is the last season. Good riddance KCav.

Ahhh, Whitney. She's that breath of fresh air after the fog of desperation that is The Hills. I love The City and Olivia has just enough great style to counteract her b*tchiness.

**Wednesday**

Surprisingly, I don't watch anything on Wednesday nights.

**Thursdays**

I dvr Vampire Diaries each week, and I'm currently a little over a month behind. For some reason, I never actually want to watch the episodes I've recorded, but once I have, I'm always glad. Hello, there are tons of hot guys and it's like Buffy the Vampire Slayer all over again -- my favorite show from 9th grade.

Real Housewives of New York is on every Thursday. I have loved the RH franchise for a while, but these NY ladies are a little on the annoying side. Jill, LuAnn and Kelly are like the mean girls. They're rude and so judgmental, but when someone else is rude/judgmental toward them -- whoa, step back, because you're going to feel their wrath.

**Fridays**

Nothin' on Frid{ee}ay.

**Weekends**

There are a few shows on Sunday that I like to catch, but nothing that will cause me to lash out if I miss. That sentiment will change once Big Brother returns this summer. Make me miss it and I might cut you.
Right now, I like 60 Minutes, Amazing Race and Kendra.

Ok, that's a lot of tv. It's exhausting just typing it all out, honestly. Most of it is dvr'd and then I catch up over the weekend. I try my absolute best to never record anything on tv 1 so J can watch whatever he wants. I'm a good wife like that.

What shows are can't-miss for you? {Please tell me there's someone out there who watches as much tv as I do ...}

Jeggins?

Please tell me you watch Kell on Earth {on Bravo} ...

If you're not watching you're missing out on a lot of bitching and clueless girls who "want to get into the fashion industry" but then can't cut it good fashion knowledge.

Kelly Cutrone, owner of People's Revolution {former employer of Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port -- does she still work there?, both of MTV reality fame}, is a very honest ball-buster in the cutthroat world of fashion PR.

I pretty much love watching this show. From Stephanie V. effing just about everything up and male models collapsing and messing up a fashion show installation to Kelly's adorable 7 year old daughter and a male assistant who wears anything from denim overalls to a full-length black gown, this show has it all.

On a recent episode {the same one where the male model collapsed} models were installed for a Genetic Denim show during fashion week. One of the female models is wearing jeggins {jeans + leggings = jeggins}. And, although I'm still a little unsure as to what they are exactly, I'm definitely sure I'm not quite aboard that train {yet, anyway}.

Are they leggings material with denim markings printed on them? Are they made of denim but are just so stretchy they emulate leggings?

Here are a few pairs that I've found online. I'm thinking I need to see these in person, and they'll definitely take a try-on before jumping on the jeggin {btw, Kelly says jeggin but I'm not comfortable with saying it so slangily, unless of course that's what they're called. And let's be honest, if that's what Kelly Cutrone is calling them, that's most likely what they're called...} bandwagon.

J Brand {$165}

Joe's Jeans {$92}

Blank Denim {$78}

Divine Rights of Denim {$40}

The first three pairs of jeggin{g}s are from shopbop.com and the last one is from lulus.com {a great place for affordable but trendy clothing that not everyone will have because it's not Forever21}
