•So, my tv watching usually takes a definite hit during the summer. But, the one show that I can count on is Big Brother. Not only is it immensely entertaining, but it also comes on three nights a week!
The new season just started about 2 weeks ago, and I'm already hooked. Each season there are twists and the main one for this summer is that 3 "couples" from previous seasons came back on the show to try to win the $500,000 prize. Evel Dick and Daniele, Jeff and Jordan and, the worst of all of them, Brendon and Rachel.
If you like to watch a bunch of Crazies duking it out three nights a week, this is the show for you. The psychological warfare is the best.
Do you watch Big Brother?
•About a month ago we got some geraniums to fill two of the pots on our front porch. I don't have the greenest of thumbs, but I've been able to keep geraniums alive before. This year is apparently the exception. I've tried keeping them more shaded, less shaded, watered more often, watered less often and nothing seems to help. They're dying a slow death.
I've admitted I'm not a skilled gardener, but who can keep anything alive in these temps? And, there's no end in sight.
•The other night, just before I put Jack to bed, we did a little photoshoot. I got the cutest smiling pic of The Bubbs.
I was never a lover of the gummy, toothless smile, but this one just melts my heart. And those dimples!
•Friday was John's 29th birthday. We had a little QT for ourselves and went out to dinner with family. I think he enjoyed the first day of the his last year in his 20s.
Let me tell you the highlight of dinner, though: John, me, his aunt Missy and brother Matt all got puked on. Yep. Happy birthday to you, huh?
We went to the Mont, John's favorite, and were sitting inside instead of melting on the patio. We were all sitting, eating and drinking, minding our own business when some guy couldn't make it to the bathroom in time. I thought he'd spilled a drink, but No. He had had one too many and lost it all right behind me. I was wearing a romper, so I couldn't just change my shirt. John and his brother both got it all on their legs.
It was disgusting, but at least it happened to us. I'm not sure just anyone would be ok with it. The worst part is that the guy puked all over the floor and the entire party (except one) just peaced out. One really nice guy hung back and helped clean up and apologized. But, geez...everyone scurries away without saying a word? Nice.
That's all on the randoms.
I have a baby shower for Jack's future best friend this afternoon and I'm finally going to see Harry Potter part 2 tomorrow afternoon! Should be a nice little weekend.

weather you believe it or not.
OKC and the Edmond area were pounded with hail yesterday. Here's a crazy video. {it seems long, but trust me, you have to keep watching, at least until about the 1:40 mark}
And, here's the front page of the Oklahoman. The picture looks like it snowed, but that's hail accumulation.

8 days a week
It's been raining for the last four days, and according the the weathermen, there's really no end in sight.
You already know about the scary weather on Monday, so, I won't bore you with the weather we've been having, except to tell you that the last two nights we've had Lily in bed with us. She hates thunderstorms.
On Wednesday night, I hardly slept {thanks to that cute pug changing positions all night} from 4:30 on and last night we put Lily in the bed around the same time and she slept a lot more.
Ok, on to more fun things. Yesterday I got my hair cut. It had been months since I'd gone in, and even though I usually have much shorter hair, I decided to keep it a little longer for now. She only cut an inch off!
And, before my hair appointment, I did a little browsing. I've had the shopping bug lately, and I wanted to go by Forever21 to see if they had this cute top in the store so I wouldn't have to order it and pay for shipping. No such luck.

It's only $15. Maybe I'll order it anyway.
Old Navy was also on my list of places. I've been needing some basics and I can usually count on ON to have what I want for cheap.
Unfortunately, they didn't have a whole lot, but I did happen upon a cute grey distressed jean jacket that was on sale for $13 from $35! I'm wearing it today!
I still have the shopping bug, but I'm refraining for now. But, in an attempt to satisfy my need to buy things, I'm going to post a couple things that I've had my eye on.
Ruffle Floral dress from Pink Ice $35
Colette Necklace from Stella & Dot $138
Blooming Brilliance blouse from Anthropologie on sale for $159
If you've been reading for a while, you know that I'm lusting after more than just 3 things, but I'll spare you.
For once, we don't have much going on this weekend, just a graduation party tomorrow evening. And, if this rain actually lets up, we might just doing a little work in the front yard.
Have a good weekend!!

Random Thursday
• Do you read The Pioneer Woman's blog? She always has the best looking food on there. I've only ever made a couple of things that she's posted {stuffed mushrooms -- they were a hit!, and quesadillas -- I think she made shrimp, we made chicken}. The recipe I want to try the most is her macaroni and cheese. I am a sucker for mac & cheese. Anytime I see it on a menu, it's automatically one of my sides, or a first course, or desert, or my main meal, or all of the above.
Have you tried it? Or any of her other recipes?
• It's my birthday, which means I have birthday money. I already have a little bit of it earmarked for something I want for our bedroom.
See, I have these nasty {not really, but since I'm now 27 and I've had them since I was 19 or 20, I consider them nasty} plastic drawers that I keep my socks, underthings, pajamas, etc in. While I love that I've had them since living in the sorority house, I think it's time to move up to some grownup furniture.
I found this bookcase on target.com and I've loved it for months. My plan is to use the drawer on the bottom for said underthings and hopefully socks {if they'll fit} and then get some baskets for one or two of the lower shelves. Thus, eliminating the need for my nasty plastic drawers.
• Do you watch Young and the Restless? I've watched this soap for a really long time, but I recently {about a year ago} got back in to it and I DVR it every day. Can I tell you that it's getting gooood! If you don't know anything or don't care about this at all ... you can move on, but if you care, keep reading.
Adam, Victor's son, is in the midst of his life falling apart. All of Genoa City is figuring out all of his lies and misdeeds and he's finally having to answer some questions. And, finally, Sharon and Nick are figuring out that their baby is alive! I hate everything Adam did to all these people, but at the same time I feel bad for him. He loves Sharon, and I think he really wants to do good by her.
Anyway, I know it's a little crazy to be so into this show, but I can't help myself. It's really good, and I can't wait to see what happens with Adam next. And, when will Nick and Sharon figure out that Ashley's baby is actually their baby {conveniently named Faith, also}?
• Word on the street is that after this nice weather we're having this week, we'll be back to cold snaps and more "active" weather. Yes! {not.} I can handle rain -- in fact, I like a rainy day ... when I get to be at home. But if rainy weather comes along with colder temperatures, I'm not really going to be a fan. But, I do like the fact that rain is a sign that Spring is on the way!
What I really want is warm weather, and beers on a patio -- preferably on a day when I don't have to work. Thanks!
• I'm only a little over a week away from my first ever half-marathon. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'll be running with some friends, and hopefully when we get to the hills {my nemesis ...} they can encourage me and push me through. I'm using my great 10-miler as inspiration for 13.1!!
