Pinterest: food successes.

I'm notorious for pinning tons of things and never doing anything with them. Until recently.

I'm also notorious for never making a meal plan for the week, and J is always asking, "what's for dinner". Until recently.

I've decided that it's high time I put my incessant pinning to good use.

I haven't made too many new Pinterest recipes since I just made this decision, but I'm 3 for 3 so far.

I made these a long time ago, and they were delish. A perfect appetizer!

We made this a couple weeks ago and it was soooo good! I thought the mustard cream sauce would be like the one at Charleston's, but it was a little thinner consistency and more savory than sweet. But, so good.

We made these tonight. I used regular flour tortillas and shredded lettuce instead of green onions. I'm also not a huge fan of tomatoes or olives, so I left those off. Either way, these were also a big hit. I think next time I might make some taco meat to add to it.

Here's to more Pinterest successes!

tell me are you a Christian child ...

Ma'am I aaam tonight!

Name that song.

Time's up ... Walking in Memphis. And, walking in Memphis is just what J and I might be doing later this summer.

Memphis has always been on our list of places we'd really like to visit and since it's much closer to Oklahoma than we thought {only a 4 or 5 hour drieve!} it might just happen this summer.

A couple of my friends have been several times and their must-sees are as follows:

Ducks at the Peabody Hotel

These ducks have it made -- they walk a red carpet everyday.

Beale Street

Graceland

Chi Omega National Headquarters

Those are the high points, and, really, for a weekend-long trip, that's probably all we'll be able to do. Well, that and eat.

So, speaking of eating, what are some must-eat places? I hear that Gus' has the best fried chicken, but where else should we go? J loves BBQ, so no matter where we go, I'm sure he'll be in BBQ heaven.

And, now, since I'm jonesin' for a little Marc Cohn, here's the video for Walkin' In Memphis.

Random Thursday

•I saw on Saturday that Cynthia Vincent was debuting her line for Target on Sunday. My plan was to hit up Tarjay the day it came out, but that just didn't happen. So, then on Wednesday, after a quick photoshoot, I wanted to check out the goods. Can you believe that in a little over 3 days that the entire section was pretty much picked over? {Yes...} Wow!

I was in luck, though, there was still a pair of the cute wedges left in my size, so I snagged 'em. I almost got the cute flats {like Christine} but they made my big toe look way too long {I've been sensitive to that ever since this guy called me out for having the longest big toe he'd ever seen...thanks for that, dude.}.

sorry for the midgy picture, it's all i could pull off of the Target website

•More Target news -- Zac Posen for Target starts this Sunday. Uhh, two words: yes, please. Check out a sneak peak here.

•Congrats to Sam Bradford, Gerald McCoy and Trent Williams {all loyal Sooners} on being selected in the first round of the NFL draft tonight. Ahem, they went 1, 3 and 4.

Yay Sam!!!

•The OKC Thunder are in the playoffs and on Sunday I went with some friends to a new pub in OKC to watch the first game in their series with the Lakers. It's called RePUBlic Gastropub. The food was pretty good -- I had the pulled chicken melt with a serrano honey mustard sauce that was HOT. I think it's definitely worth going back to, but maybe not to watch a game -- or if that's the plan, we're definitely waiting a little longer so they can get the service kinks worked out. Anyway, my food was really good and B got the fish and chips, which looked bomb. If you're in the OKC area, check it out.

•Ok, this is super random, but if I were to have my rehearsal dinner all over again, I think I would have worn white {hello, the only time anyone can really wear white to any kind of wedding event is when you're the bride} -- I wore a plum velvet dress from Juicy that I still really love. Anyway, I was on Shopbop the other day and found the most gorg dress. And, even though I've been married for a while, I kinda wish I could go back in time and wear this dress -- or stay in the present and find a good reason to purchase it. Any ideas?

Aja Strapless dress by ADAM, $276 {on sale}

I looove the ruching and the length. Ugh! Swoon!! If only it came in black.

Random Thursday

• Do you read The Pioneer Woman's blog? She always has the best looking food on there. I've only ever made a couple of things that she's posted {stuffed mushrooms -- they were a hit!, and quesadillas -- I think she made shrimp, we made chicken}. The recipe I want to try the most is her macaroni and cheese. I am a sucker for mac & cheese. Anytime I see it on a menu, it's automatically one of my sides, or a first course, or desert, or my main meal, or all of the above.

Have you tried it? Or any of her other recipes?

• It's my birthday, which means I have birthday money. I already have a little bit of it earmarked for something I want for our bedroom.

See, I have these nasty {not really, but since I'm now 27 and I've had them since I was 19 or 20, I consider them nasty} plastic drawers that I keep my socks, underthings, pajamas, etc in. While I love that I've had them since living in the sorority house, I think it's time to move up to some grownup furniture.

I found this bookcase on target.com and I've loved it for months. My plan is to use the drawer on the bottom for said underthings and hopefully socks {if they'll fit} and then get some baskets for one or two of the lower shelves. Thus, eliminating the need for my nasty plastic drawers.

• Do you watch Young and the Restless? I've watched this soap for a really long time, but I recently {about a year ago} got back in to it and I DVR it every day. Can I tell you that it's getting gooood! If you don't know anything or don't care about this at all ... you can move on, but if you care, keep reading.

Adam, Victor's son, is in the midst of his life falling apart. All of Genoa City is figuring out all of his lies and misdeeds and he's finally having to answer some questions. And, finally, Sharon and Nick are figuring out that their baby is alive! I hate everything Adam did to all these people, but at the same time I feel bad for him. He loves Sharon, and I think he really wants to do good by her.

Anyway, I know it's a little crazy to be so into this show, but I can't help myself. It's really good, and I can't wait to see what happens with Adam next. And, when will Nick and Sharon figure out that Ashley's baby is actually their baby {conveniently named Faith, also}?

• Word on the street is that after this nice weather we're having this week, we'll be back to cold snaps and more "active" weather. Yes! {not.} I can handle rain -- in fact, I like a rainy day ... when I get to be at home. But if rainy weather comes along with colder temperatures, I'm not really going to be a fan. But, I do like the fact that rain is a sign that Spring is on the way!

What I really want is warm weather, and beers on a patio -- preferably on a day when I don't have to work. Thanks!

• I'm only a little over a week away from my first ever half-marathon. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'll be running with some friends, and hopefully when we get to the hills {my nemesis ...} they can encourage me and push me through. I'm using my great 10-miler as inspiration for 13.1!!

Sliders

On Thursday we were asked to take pictures of the food at Seven47 again. {Yep, I took such fab pics the first time, they wanted us -- me-- back for more}

We were there for Slider Thursday. There are nine different kinds of sliders -- crab cake, philly cheese steak, regular cheeseburgers, etc. They're really good and definitely a good price. Anyway, we hit the side patio again and took pics of all nine kinds of sliders.

Here are some of them:

They look pretty darn good right? They definetely taste as good as they look. If you're in the Norman area on a Thursday... go! Or, really, any night...they serve food seven days a week.

Here are a couple other pics I took after the serious slider photography was over. I think they turned out really cool.

Those are just pics I took because I really liked the light coming through the beer bottles. I love that the focal point in both is a little different. I think I'm starting to get a hang of this photography thing.
